

Programs
The Drop-in Activity Centre (DIAC) is the hub for our activities. It provides a relaxed and friendly environment in which all people can engage in a variety of activities, or just to sit and relax with a tea or coffee or an inexpensive meal from our “Welcome Café”. Some of the activities available include: table tennis, pool table, cards, board games, jig saws puzzles, etc.
A specific area has been set aside in the DIAC for the young people who can play video games, music or just chat.

In addition to the general activities in DIAC we offer three broad programs on which a variety of activities are based:
Offers support for young people, some of whom struggle with issues such as behavioural problems, relationships, social pressures and dysfunctional families etc.
Xtreme NRG (Extreme Energy) is held for young teenagers (up to the age of 15) on alternate Fridays at Ivanhoe. Active games, outings and activities that they enjoy are provided. A bus will pick up and drop off in the Ivanhoe and
OZone is for youth over 15 years of age where a specific area has been set aside at Ivanhoe for their use. They can play video games, music or just converse. A bus will pick up and drop off in the Ivanhoe and
Backyard Sports is an activity held at Malahang Reserve in
The Youth Workshop Mentoring Program is for young men who are having problems in years 7 – 9 at school, at home or who have come to the attention of the police. They receive one-to-one support for one day per week during the school term, in a workshop environment. Applicants, in conjunction with their parents/guardians and the school, discuss the particular situation and plan strategies to assist the young man. It is of course, subject to the desire of the young person to make positive changes to his life.
Workshops are conducted on Billy-karts, go-karts and bicycles as required.
Adults
This is designed for adults who enjoy friendship in the DIAC or through specific activities.
Bible Fellowship is held weekly on Thursdays from 7.45 pm to 9.30 pm. It provides an opportunity to consider matters of faith and social connection and includes hearty singing and refreshments.
Shedwerx is for a group of men who enjoy companionship in a workshop environment where they are aided in making basic items of woodwork. It is held each Tuesday from 12.30 to 3.30 pm, commencing with lunch.
Tuesday Community Meal provides a nutritious 2-course meal for a group of 12 people who would not normally enjoy a proper meal or the accompanying fellowship.
Pool Competition A pool competition is held each Wednesday evening.
This activity is specifically for people who are lonely, dislocated or intellectually or physical disabled
These daytime structured activities have been offered since 1973 for people aged between 18 and 80 who are lonely, isolated or intellectually handicapped. They are helped to take part in painting, creative dance, singing, discussions and making all types of craft. Day trips are regularly held along with camps from time to time.
Wednesday Club This program is for lonely and mentally challenged people and operates from 10.30 am – 2.00 pm each Wednesday.
Friday Club Offers “an extended family” for those with intellectual disabilities and operates from 10.30 am – 12:30 pm each Friday.
Art & Craft Occurs each Tuesday from 4.45 pm to 6.00 pm when a variety of mediums are used to paint, build, knit or sew items of interest for each participant.
