Open House is a community based organisation. The effectiveness of our work lies in volunteers sharing our vision and supporting people in practical ways.

 

If you are interested in helping other people and are sympathetic to our ethos please consider joining us and utilising your skills in a friendly, supportive environment. If you have a heart for people, we will help you grow through your support of others.

 

 

Volunteers

 

A volunteer’s main objective is to be a positive role model. Depending on availability and the matching of skills to our programs, volunteers can be engaged on a daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or on an “as required” basis.

 

If you can cook, type, listen, fund raise, be a friend, undertake property maintenance, organise, encourage etc. we have a role for you.

 

Open House believes that volunteers and staff bring equally worthwhile, vital but different contributions to the growth of both participants and each other.

 

 

Financial Support 

 

A vital component of our ongoing work is our ability to fund the programs we run. As we do not charge for our regular activities, (although some outings and camps may incur a cost) we depend on donations from the community to maintain our programs. We receive some funding from the State and local governments and we enjoy the support of some philanthropic trusts, but the cornerstone of our work is individuals and businesses who share our vision and commit to supporting us financially.

Prayer Support.

All activities at Open House are underpinned by prayer.

There are 2 prayer groups that meet monthly. These are enhanced by many supporters who share the work of Open House on an ongoing basis through prayer.
